GMSMP-CHA-001 Peace I Leave With You  GENERAL ANTHEM

In these uneasy times of war. global unrest and uncertainty it is appropriate to be reminded of the peace that Christ offers His Church.  "Peace I Leave With You" is a stunningly beautiful setting by J. Varley Roberts.   We are pleased to be able to provide a new arrangement of this anthem based on the text of John 14:27; 16: 6, 33:  "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. . . But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. . .but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."  This is a setting for Choir with Tenor (Sop.) Solo; Organ; Piano; String Orchestra:  Violins I, II; Viola; Cello; Double Bass.  In the absence of a string orchestra, this arrangement can be performed with just the piano and organ.

GMSMP-CHA-002  Seek Ye the LORD   GENERAL ANTHEM

Throughout the Scripture God offers Man (God's Image bearer) many invitations.  One such invitation was presented when God invited Noah to enter the Ark, Genesis 7:1.  In Isaiah 55:6, 7 an incredible invitation is offered to all Mankind:  "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
As the end of the dispensation of Grace draws near, the urgency of this invitation is clearly underscored.  John Varley Roberts, 1841-1920 musically captured the essence of this invitation of God to Man in his "Seek Ye the Lord"  It is our pleasure to offer a new arrangement of this anthem based on the text of Isaiah 55:6, 7.  This arrangement is a setting for Choir with Tenor Solo; Organ; Piano; String Orchestra: Violins I, II; Viola; Cello; Double Bass.
Again, in the absence of a string orchestra, this arrangement can be performed with just the piano and organ.

GMSMP-CHA-003  Praise The Lord, O Jerusalem  HARVEST/THANKSGIVING ANTHEM

God, throughout Scripture and especially in the Psalms,  commands us to be thankful and offer up praise to Him.  One of our Holidays is called Thanksgiving and is placed on the calendar to coordinate with the crop harvest season.  John Henry Maunder, 1858-1920 Captured the essence of  the kind of joy, praise and thankfulness we should experience and proclaim to God, our provider in the music he penned "Praise The Lord, O Jerusalem" a setting of Psalm 147:12, 13; 145: 8-10; 65: 13. Perhaps you would treat your choir and church to this delightful and vigorous anthem.  This arrangement is scored for Choir with Soprano, Alto or Baritone solo; Trumpets I, II; Trombone; Tuba; Timpani; Organ; Piano; String Orchestra: Violins I, II, Viola, Cello and Double Bass.
147:12, 13 "Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.  For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.  145: 8-10 "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.  The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.  All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee."  65:132 "The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing." This arrangement can be performed with just the organ with the piano.

GMSMP-CHA-004 He Shall Reign For Ever  CHRISTMAS ANTHEM

Considering the celebration of the advent of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the time of His nativity should propel our thinking forward to the time of His triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  Those who went before Him "cried saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord": reminding us of  the message delivered at the announcement to Mary by the angel--"He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest. . .And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end."
This is the message of  "He Shall Reign For ever", an exciting, powerful Anthem penned by Caleb Simper, 1857-1942 and arranged by T. J. Doeppers, 2006 with scoring for Choir; Trumpets I, II; Organ; and String Orchestra.  Based on the Scripture texts of  Mark 11:9b;  Luke 1:32, 33; this Anthem is a setting that captures the joy of the advent celebration season and quickly becomes a choir favorite to sing.  This Anthem would serve as a powerful opening to an Advent Festival Worship Service.

GMSMP-CHA-005 King of Kings  EASTER ANTHEM

The Scriptural teaching on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is of critical importance in the belief system of the Christian:  As the Apostle Paul corrected the erring Corinthians in I Corinthians 15 regarding their understanding of resurrection he directly proclaims: " But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:  And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain." I Corinthians 15:13, 14.
It is, therefore, no wonder that Easter, the celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ has inspired some of the greatest musical compositions used by the Church.  In this choral composition, King of Kings, we visit once again the work of Caleb Simper, 1857-1942 for a musically delicious anthem celebrating the Resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ with the text based on Psalm 118:24; I Corinthians 15:20; 55; Revelation 19:6; 11:15.  Arranged by T. J. Doeppers, 2006, this Anthem is scored for Choir; Trumpets I, II; Timpani; Organ; String Orchestra: Violin I, II; Viola; Cello; Double Bass.  In the absence of Orchestral Instruments this Anthem can be performed with just the Organ accompaniment.

GMSMP-CHA-006 The Radiant Morn Hath Passed Away  GENERAL HYMN-ANTHEM

Considering Life and Destiny, Rev. Godfrey Thring, 1823-1903 reflects on  the truth in  Scripture of James 5:14; I Peter 1:24; John 14:2b-3; Rev. 19:8; 21:23; 22:5 in his profound and artistic poetry entitled "The Radiant Morn Hath Passed Away".  From a musical setting by Rev. H.H. Woodward and arranged by T. J. Doeppers, 2006 this powerful poetic presentation of Scripture truth propels us from the brevity of life here to the splendors and wonders of eternal life with Christ in Heaven.

GMSMP-CHA-OO7 Break Forth Into Joy  GENERAL / EASTER ANTHEM

Sir Joseph Barnby, 1838 - 1896 captures the excitement and anticipation that is proclaimed in Isaiah 52: 9 - 10 in the Anthem Break Forth Into Joy.  According to Matthew Henry: "The removal of the Jews from Babylon, and the application of Isaiah 52:7 to the preaching
of the gospel (by the apostle,, Romans 10:15) plainly intimates that that deliverance was a type and figure of the redemption of mankind by Jesus Christ.". . . "The redemption of Jerusalem is the joy of all God's people, Luke 2: 38.  God will have the glory of it
Isaiah 52:10. He "has made bare his holy arm" (manifested and displayed his power) "in the eyes of all the nations."

Bringing it all together the Anthem turns to the powerful and familiar Easter Hymn (Worgan): with alleluias "Lyra Davidica," 1708 for a dramatically dynamic conclusion. Arranged by T. J. Doeppers, 2006 the scoring includes Choir with Soprano descant; Organ; Timpani; and
String Orchestra:  Violin I, II; Viola; Cello; Double Bass

GMSMP-CHA-008 O How Amiable Are Thy Dwellings GENERAL WORSHIP ANTHEM

In Psalm 84 David, forced by the rebellion of Absalom to leave Jerusalem is grieved over his absence from the Holy City.  This psalm reveals the devout expressions of a dutiful soul for his God and communion with Him.
"David expresses with great devotion his affection for the ordinances of  God, and his desire towards them. He contrasts the
happiness of little birds that made their nests in the buildings adjoining God's altars to his grief in exile from the Holy City, as
he would rather live in a bird's nest high above God's altars than in a palace far removed from them." --M. Henry
John E. West, 1863-1929 captured the essence of the feelings expressed by David in this Psalm in the Anthem O How Amiable Are Thy Dwellings.  This arrangement by T. J. Doeppers is scored for SATB Choir; Organ; Piano; and String Orchestra: Violin I, II; Viola; Cello; Double Bass.

GMSMP-CHA-009 How Beautiful Upon The Mountains GENERAL/MISSIONS ANTHEM

Sir John Stainer, 1840-1901 penned a wonderful musical setting of Isaiah 52:7:  How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings,
that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, and publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
This anthem fits perfectly for a service emphasizing the spreading of the Gospel through witnessing and missions enterprises.  This arrangement by T. J. Doeppers is scored for SATB Choir;
Organ; String Orchestra: Violin I, II; Viola; Cello; Double Bass.

GMSMP-CHA-010 Thou Wilt Keep Him GENERAL ANTHEM FOR SATB VOICES

In uncertain or perilous times it is comforting and encouraging to be reminded of the promise of God found in Isaiah 26:3:
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee".
Composer Dudley Buck, 1839-1909
beautifully captures this jewel of God's assurance to His followers in the anthem Thou Wilt Keep Him.  In the full arrangement of this anthem
by T. J. Doeppers. instrumentation includes: Organ, Piano, String Orchestra: Violin I,II; Viola; Cello; Double Bass.

GMSMP-CHA-0011 "I Am Alpha And Omega" FESTIVAL WORSHIP/ NEWS YEARS, OR GENERAL USE

We are at a point in our nation's history, where our culture is more and more declaring that God is no longer welcome in our midst.  Secularism and
materialism are the gods in this modern age.  It is important that we not loose sight of the fact that "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
It is essential that we recall the fact that God, the creator is self-existent.  He is infinite and we are finite.  "I Am Alpha And Omega" is an exciting anthem
that refocuses on the truth of some essential facts concerning God's being and nature.  Once again Sir John Stainer, 1840-1901 provides a musical platform
for the declaration and rehearsal of these great truths.  The grand and powerful opening of this Anthem speaks to the greatness of our God as revealed in
Revelation 1:8.  The anthem concludes with a Sanctus based on Isaiah 6:3,1. Arranged by T. J. Doeppers this arrangement is scored for SATB Choir, Organ,
Piano, String Orchestra: Violin I,II; Viola; Cello; Double Bass.

GMSMP-CHA0012 "Behold, I Bring You Good Tidings" Once again we visit the wonderful message of Christmas; and the
magnificent gift that our Great God gave, by His infinite Mercy and Grace  to a world, lost in sin and degradation.  Once again we visit the wonderful
compositions of Caleb Simper, 1857-1942.  Simper compiles for us key Scripture that points us to the nature and identity of this great Gift, and places
them in an exciting and pleasant musical setting that all can enjoy. This arrangement by T. J. Doeppers and is scored for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet in B Flat,
Bassoon, Horns in F, Trumpets in B Flat, Timpani, Organ, Strings:  Violins 1,2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass.  [Note in the absence of an orchestra the
anthem can be performed with just the organ score in the Choir Octavo.]

GMSMP-CHA0013 "He, Watching Over Israel" from the Oratorio "ELIJAH by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy focuses on and
reminds us of a marvelous infinite truth revealed in Psalm 121:4 that is relevant to us today:  King Ahab, the wickedest king in Israel's troubled history,
decided it would be politically correct and personally advantageous to have his cake and eat it too.  Why not mix together Baal, the pagan deity, and
Yahweh, the holy one of Israel?  Why not have the self-indulgence that Baal permits his people and the security that Yahweh promises his people?
Why not the fornication that Baal laughs about and the forgiveness that Yahweh weeps to bestow?  Preacher popularity has been a motivation for
preachers, focused on their own acceptance and popularity, to tell their hearers that we can all have the "goodies" of the world together with the Gospel
of God.  The prophet Elijah in blazing terms thunders "NO"!  C. H. Spurgeon in his exposition of  Psalm 121:4 says:
"Lo, He shall not slumber nor sleep--the Keeper of Israel". . . It may also be worthy of mention that in verse three the Lord is spoken of as
the personal keeper of one individual, and here of all those who are in his chosen nation, described as Israel: mercy to one saint is the
pledge of blessing to them all. Happy are the pilgrims to whom this psalm is a safe conduct; they may journey all the way to the celestial
     city without fear."
This  becomes a poignant point when taken in view of Revelation 15 where our God, long denied His rightful Glory and Honor
by a Christ rejecting, wicked world, releases His full wrath to finally and completely end this denial.  This arrangement by T. J. Doeppers is scored for Flute, Oboe,
Clarinet in B Flat, Bassoon, SATB Choir, String Orchestra: Violins 1,2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass.  This arrangement may be performed with organ only as found in the Choir Octavo.

GMSMP-CHA0014 "I Waited for the Lord"*  It is often the case that great sacred composers drew from the Scriptures for their texts.
Many times a few words from Scripture can make a profound and powerful impression as it drives home a simple truth.  Many composers, no doubt,  were
familiar with the promise of Isaiah 55:11, and relied on it to accomplish the mission of their compositions based on Scripture  Felix Mendelssohn in penning
this wonderful reminder found in Psalm 40:1 masterfully weaves the message through an incredibly beautiful tapestry of musical brilliance as a vehicle for
this text. Here, in this anthem is a wonderful Duet for two equal sopranos in dialog with the chorus. This arrangement by T. J. Doeppers is scored for Flute,
Oboe, Clarinet in B Flat, Bassoon, I & II Soprano Duet, SATB Chorus, Organ, String Orchestra: Violins I & II, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass
